Dr. Dave Thorson, MD

A fellowship-trained sports medicine physician and family medicine specialist with more than 35 years of experience in patient care, medical education, and healthcare leaderships

I have served as team physician for the St. Paul Saints, the U.S. Ski Team, and Mahtomedi High School athletics, while also teaching generations of medical students, residents, and advanced practice clinicians. Held numerous leadership positions, including President of the Minnesota Medical Association and President of the Minnesota Academy of Family Physicians. I am dedicated to advancing high-quality, patient-centered care and improving community health outcomes.

I enjoy staying active and supporting sports at both the community and professional levels. Throughout my career, I have volunteered medical coverage for sporting events ranging from high school athletics to international competitions. I also enjoy mentoring the next generation of healthcare professionals through teaching and clinical education. Spending time with family and friends, engaging with my community, and contributing to initiatives that promote health and wellness remain important parts of my life. I am passionate about helping individuals and communities thrive, both on and off the field.
