Open Cities Health Center Appoints new CEO

We welcome Dr. John S. Pearson as the new Chief Executive Officer of Open Cities Health Center in St. Paul, Minnesota. He previously held CEO roles at Health Park Consultants, First Choice Community Healthcare, and served as Chief Healthcare Administrator at Heart of Florida Health Center.

Prior to his work in the FQHC community, he was a professor at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. A retired U.S. Army veteran, Dr. Pearson served globally as a medical evacuation pilot and healthcare operations officer. His military leadership roles included Executive Officer at the U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence, COO for the U.S. European Command Surgeon’s Office, and VP of Operations at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center.

A South Carolina native, Dr. Pearson holds a bachelor’s from The Citadel, a master’s from Central Michigan University, and a Doctorate in Health Administration from the Medical University of South Carolina.
